Good afternoon!
On behalf of the Greater Cincinnati American Association of Zookeepers chapter, I wanted to invite you all to our 6th Annual Bowling for Rhinos event. This years event will be on Saturday, September 21 at Walt’s Center Lanes in Newport, KY.
Last year we raised $25,056 and were the second-highest fundraising chapter in the country thanks to all of your support, help us beat that number this year! I was lucky enough to spend time with the Rhino Protection Units in Java and Sumatra last month and I PROMISE you that your money is going to a fantastic cause!! 100% of the proceeds raised from this event goes to protecting wild rhinos and all life that shares their habitat. The International Rhino Foundation uses the money they receive from Bowling for Rhinos to pay for the salaries of the Rhino Protection Units-these are 4 man teams that spend 15 days in the jungle at a time removing snares, collecting data, arresting poachers, and much more! There are even RPU’s in Way Kambas patrolling and protecting Harapan, Andalas and the other critically endangered Sumatran rhinos at the Sumatran Rhino Sanctuary, so it goes without saying that they have an incredibly important job and our support is crucial.
