Tosh’s Horticulture Mid-Winter Update

Greetings Horticulture Volunteers!

Happy Winter!  I hope the past couple of months have been treating you all well and that you have been able to enjoy the serenity and delicate beauties of Cincinnati’s wintery parks and gardens (and for those of you in warmer climates— the beautiful sunshine!)  I just wanted to send a mid-winter note to remind everyone of a few important dates and let folks know about a few of the other opportunities available this time of year.

FEBRUARY

Landscape for the Homeowner Series – February 6, 13, 20, 27, & March 6 (Wednesdays) – 7pm to 9pm – Education Building

Steve Foltz will be hosting a five-part series on landscaping for homeowners.  This series has been offered for several years and is a great way to prepare for the gardening season, especially if you are planning to make additions or changes to your garden spaces (or if you’re looking for more information on garden design, preparation, and plant selection.)  Registration is available online through the CZBG website (look under the “Garden Tab”.)  You can also call the Education Desk at (513) 559-7767 to reserve a space.

Horticulture Volunteer Round TableFebruary – Date & Location TBD.

This is your opportunity to provide feedback on our Horticulture Volunteer Program, offer suggestions for education sessions, and suggest things you may want to see happen with the gardens.  All are welcome to attend.  Your feedback is valuable whether you have been here for one year or twenty!  If you are interested in attend the round table session, please send me an email and I will follow up with potential dates, etc.

MARCH

Horticulture Volunteer Welcome Back Brunch & Awards Ceremony – Saturday, March 9 – 10:30 AM – noon – Safari Lodge.
