Horticulture Volunteer Updates

Hi All,

  • Saturday we will be working at the Cat Show. We have to start early to get out of there in time for the show so we will meet at the entrance to Cat Show at 8 am.
  • Pollinator Carnival is on Saturday, May 19th, 9 am to noon. If you would like to help it would be to work one of the tables/booths where we have different games for families to play to understand the relationship between plants and pollinators. It is a lot of fun. We meet at 8:30 am to get set up so we are ready at 9 am to start activities.  I will be sending out information on the booths in the next week.  If you want to sign up please let me know.
  • Tulip digging sales. We will start digging tulips and hyacinths this Thursday. We have a large group of volunteers from Liberty Mutual who are in their 6th year of coming and they love to try and dig all the tulips in the Garden. You have to love that! Anyway, we will need people to help bag and sell each tulips each day ThursdayFridayMonday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The Liberty Mutual Folks start at 8 so if you can help bag and sell we will start that at 9 am.  I think we will start the bagging and selling in the Vine St. Entry Village on Thursday but if plans change I will let you know. Again if you could let me know any day(s) you would be available that would help with the scheduling.
  • Interpretive Cart – If you have responded that you are interested in working at the interpretive cart we are having a training and opening day for the cart on Thursday, May 10. As soon as I have a confirmation on a room and I will get back with the time and place.

That’s it for now and thank you all,

Debz
